Mission Department

What the Mission Department Does

The NVC Mission Department exists to remind every member that they are called to a missional life — and to shorten the distance between the ends of the earth and the neighbor next door.

Short-term teams, local outreach, missionary support, and mission education — gathered into one place. Because each team posts its own updates, this page grows at the speed the ministry actually moves.

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Mark 16:15

Get Involved

Pray, give, go — ways to join in starting today.

  • Pray

Receive the prayer calendar and pray for one field each day. It comes with the bulletin and also appears in the mission fields section here.

    See prayer points
  • Go

Start with the training. Cohorts open twice a year, in spring and autumn, and first-timers are welcome.

    See training schedule
  • Give

We look at the number of participants more than the total amount. Small regular giving is what makes a missionary family's life predictable.

    Ask about giving
  • Serve Locally

No airplane required. Weekday driving, basic English conversation, the children's study room — these are the seats that need people right now.

    See volunteer needs
  • Host a Missionary Family

What a family home on furlough needs is not a grand welcome but a meal and a place to rest.

  • Post Your Team's Update
